I really identify with her and what she writes about really resonates with me. I couldn't get enough of her words of wisdom.
Some of her writing is so "me" that I believe we must have had a past life together. Shirley MacLaine is a great spiritual teacher disguised as an actress/dancer.
I have read all her books and have a few of her audio books which I enjoy because it is in her own voice with the nuances and wit and it feels as if she is in the room with me discussing the meaning of life. I had many "aha" moments.
maybe in Atlantis.Grandma Patches I love her style of writing and her understated humor.
It is as if I knew all these things and she is confirming that inner knowledge.
But once I considered this, isn't that where ones wisdom comes from, e.g. Well, you are either a believer or not. Gosh I wish I could be her personal assistant and travel the world learning, expanding, investigating the truths that are too often hidden. You won't guess at how far the conspiracy goes on UFO's but get ready for a illuminating experience. ones life experiences. However, not long into the book, hold on your hats folks cuz it is a mind blowing ride. If you are considering purchasing this book you probably already are a fan of Shirley as I am. Yes, she does talk about her Hollywood experience a bit too much in the beginning.
The other 5 % that I hadn't heard, I enjoyed. This one is 95% rehash of all that she has written before. I was disappointed in this one. I have read all of Shirley's books and really enjoyed them.
Oh well. I googled her "Oath upon Inadvertent Exposure." statement (p 119-20) to find out if her statement that military intelligence people divulging classified security info go to Federal prison for 20 years - with no trial even. - and found nothing but a long paper (with no classified designation) going nowhere.and absolutely nothing about 20 yrs in the clink. Well, I just love Shirley, actress, person, daring-spiritualist. Maybe I should just deep-freeze my left brain, forget what car keys are for (as she says she has)Sage-ing While Age-ing.and live blissfully in the next dimension. Each to his/her own.But beyond the interesting exposure to her far-out world, I, a sceptic, want some proof of all these outrageous things (like Eisenhower being abducted and discussing atomic bombs with aliens). Those who believe they have ancestors in Atlantis and think houses can start 'leaking' water on their own will love this book. Blithefully reported as documented 'truth.' Facts need documentation -pul-eeze.
It is easy to see why she choose her parents. (It has been said that you don't see or hear something until you are ready for it. I can readily believe that we simply don't see what we are not ready to accept.I have all of her books, and find her life fascinating. Sage-ing While Age-ingShirley MacLaine is a constant source of knowledge, and is able to write in such a way that you feel that you are learning with her. Their influence on her life is easily apparent. I can't imagine exactly how she keeps so many details available so that she can write about her own personal experiences. She is always entertaining, disbursing some very good information. I feel that she must be making copious notes as she goes here, there, and everywhere. I recently reread "Out on a Limb" and found something I missed all those years ago.
